MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION

  1. Name: The name of Society is the Institute of Applied Statistics and Development Studies (hereinafter referred to briefly as “the Institute”)
  2. Registered Office: The Registered Office of the Institute is 1/172, Virat Khand, Gomtinagar, Lucknow 226010
  3. Area of operation: Entire world.
  4. Objectives: The aims and objectives for which the Institute is established are:
    1. to undertake and promote research in applied statistics and quantitative analysis with special emphasis on the problems of India and her regions, particularly to strengthening of the data base of Indian economy with a view to enabling the planners and policy makers to take appropriate corrective measures for ensuring the desired growth (and with social justice and) for removing economic disparity;
    2. to help other agencies and institutions, persons engaged in research and development by collecting and providing the requisite data and help them in analysis and interpretation of data;
    3. to conduct surveys for socio-economic studies of national interest and undertake studies relating to different development activities;
    4. to provide, on request, advisory and consultancy services to the Govt. of India and the State Govts. and other institutions engaged in development work for building up sound data base;
    5. to collaborate with other agencies, institutions and organizations including universities in such manners as may be necessary for the promotion of the objectives of the Institute;
    6. to offer fellowships and scholarships in furtherance of research in Applied Statistics;
    7. to provide programmes of advanced training to researchers in universities and Statisticians and Economists in the Government with a view to improving the quality of research and promotion of development;
    8. to prepare and print research papers, periodicals and books, in furtherance of the objectives of the Institute;
    9. to undertake, in general, all such activities and programmes as may assist in strengthening the data base of Indian economy and help in strengthening other analytical capabilities
    10. to accept donations , gifts, grant-in-aid, endowments, movable or immovable properties of any kind from the Govt. of India, the State Govts., Municipalities, District or Local Bodies, Public Bodies, or person or persons or Societies or Companies on such terms as the Board of Governors of the Institute may, in their discretion, consider fit and proper;
    11. to receive and manage properties, movable or immovable, in furtherance of the objectives of the Institute;
    12. to invest money of the Institute in such a manner as the Board of Governors may consider for the safety and benefits of the Institute and to convert or change such investments, if required by the Board of Governors;
    13. to borrow money for the purpose of the Institute;
    14. to do all other things that are incidental to or decisive for the attainment or furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Institute.
